Nepenthes Pitcher Plant

Like Venus Fly Traps, Nepenthes are carnivorous plants that eat insects for nutrients. Its nectar attracts insects, which fall into the pitcher-shaped leaves. Since they evolved to feed on insects to make up for their natural habitat's poor soil, they should be kept in a nutritionally-deficient potting mix (such as orchid medium). They can thrive in a terrarium that traps humidity and heat.
