About The Fernseed

Fernseed is a locally-owned boutique plant and flower shop in Tacoma, Washington.
We purchase 60-90% of our flowers locally.
We support local artists and small batch makers.

Small batch ceramics

Since opening our first location in April, 2019, we've focused on curating a wide selection of handmade ceramics and small batch pottery from artists and designers in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Europe. Many of our ceramics products are made locally in the Pacific Northwest.

Environmental Responsibility

We do not use plastics or harmful floral foam in the making of any of our floral arrangements. Wherever possible, we source and stock plastic alternatives to popular plant products. We encourage re-use by reselling plastic plant grow pots in our shop, as well as offering a discounted refill on our potting mixes.

Local sourcing

We're members of the Slow Flowers movement, meaning we're committed to minimizing the environmental impact of the cut flowers industry by sourcing as much of our product from local growers and backyard micro farmers.

Good Design

We source products with an emphasis on original design, utility, and plant health. We believe that product manufacturers have a social and environmental responsibility to design products that last. We do not stock products from manufacturers that intentionally copy original handmade designs and reproduce them. We believe artists and designers should receive fair compensation and credit for their original work.
