Shop Policies
Returns on plants
We offer a 14-day guarantee against pests, fungus or other disease on all plants sold at our shop. If you suspect your plant has a problem, get in touch right away by calling or emailing. Otherwise all plants are final sale. We do not offer a return policy on plants for any other reason.
Post-purchase plant care support
It is our goal to provide our customers with practical advice and plant care guidance at the time of purchase. If you have questions about how to care for your plant, please ask! It's important to note that plant care is not an exact science, and care for individual plants varies greatly based on the conditions in your home: light, temperature, humidity, drainage, plant age, soil conditions, time of year, pest control, watering schedule... all the things. Because of that, we can't guarantee that if you follow staff advice to the letter, your plant won't die. When you purchase plants from our shop, you assume the risk of caring for them.
We offer a 14-day guarantee on all our plants to cover for issues that may have been present at the time of purchase. After two weeks, you're on your own. While we would love to delight everyone by providing expert plant care advice over the phone, email, and social media, we are a tiny shop with just a handful of employees. The expectation that we provide post-purchase support for all plants sold at our shop (more than 20,000 plants per year) far exceeds our capacity to provide it. As such, we ask for your graciousness and understanding if we do not respond with individual plant care advice based on your inquiry.
We always welcome you to visit the shop in person to ask your plant care questions. All plant care questions after the 14-day guarantee are subject to staff availability.

Staff boundaries
This shop is managed by a small team of real humans. We ask that our customers treat both fellow shoppers and our staff nicely, and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who does not treat us or the people who shop here with dignity and respect. We do our best to ensure that our customers are happy with our products, service, and atmosphere, while at the same time we ask that our customers understand that we are an independent business, operating under an enormous set of logistical, staffing, budget, political and environmental constraints.
We welcome honest inquiries and good-faith conversations about our policies and practices. We are open to the task of learning, improving, expanding our awareness, and doing better. We will not tolerate bullying, racism, threats, or unwanted discourse based on our stated political and social stances.
Guiding principles of this business
We believe that local businesses are the backbone of a healthy local economy, and we are committed to providing a safe, local, inclusive environment for everyone who works and shops here. We believe in paying everyone who works here fairly. As our business grows, we invest that money back into our people and the independent artists, designers, and growers whose products we sell.
We believe that good design has a lasting impact on communities and on the planet. Products that are designed intentionally, for specific functions, and are durable and long-lasting, have a positive impact on human health and happiness while minimizing their environmental impact. We place a high value on design that adheres to these principles when selecting the products we carry in our shop.
We believe that minimizing the global footprint of harmful industries like flower farming can be done one purchase at a time. We source 60-90% of our floral product from farms within 400 miles of our shop in an effort to reduce the environmental impact of harmful growing practices and transportation of flowers from halfway across the planet. We do not use toxic floral foam in any of our arrangements and we avoid using plastic in any of our designs.
We believe that independent retail shops have a social responsibility as it relates to product sourcing, and we strive to curate a selection of products that reflect the values and identities of the people in our community. We make a conscious effort to purchase products from BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, local, and socially responsible makers and businesses and to communicate that sourcing info to our shoppers.
