Tradescantia Zebrina Purple Inch Plant
The Tradescantia zebrina, also known as the purple inch plant, is an easygoing houseplant with beautiful, shimmery purple and silver leaves. The Tradescantia zebrina eventually grows long, perky, vining arms which cascade gracefully over the edge of the pot.
CARE + MAINTENANCE
Light + temperature
The purple inch plant requires bright, indirect light! This sun-loving houseplant will lose its vibrant purple color if the lighting is too dim.
Maintain indoor temperatures of 56-80° F
Appreciates some humidity. Leaves will turn brown on the tips if its environment is too dry.
Tradescantia zebrina requires constantly moist soil. Strive to water this plant weekly, so that the soil never becomes too soggy, but also doesn't dry out entirely. If over-watered, the purple inch plant will become droopy, and its leaves will turn an unpleasant yellow color. It is better to under-water your purple inch plant than to over-water it.
Perfect for pet-loving households, and homes with children. The purple inch plant is non-toxic to cats, dogs, and humans.
Prune back seasonally by pinching off long vines to encourage fullness and to prompt new growth.
