Powder Coated Aluminum Self Watering 8" Planter

Regular price $90.00 Sale

Brilliantly designed and beautiful, this self-watering planter is hand-spun from a single sheet of aluminum, then powder-coated. Large enough for some of your bigger houseplants (think zamiifolia, rubber plants, palms, philodendrons), this plant pot can be used as a cachepot (to hold plants that are already in a container), or you can plant directly into this pot to to take advantage of the self-watering feature.

Suitable for both indoor or outdoor use in a patio or covered area.

by YIELD Design

Founders Rachel Gant and Andrew Deming met while attending California College of the Arts in San Francisco. They started YIELD in 2012 as an independent design and manufacturing studio in Saint Augustine, Florida. Rachel is the lead product designer, creating pieces that are not only beautiful and functional, but ethically and sustainably produced.

These planters are lightweight and self-watering, so if you're looking for something to hang from a suspended plant hanger or place in an elevated plant stand, they're perfect. The self-watering feature means you don't have to worry about messy water spills while keeping plants healthy and hydrated, and because the spun aluminum is so light, you won't strain hanging planters or wall and ceiling anchors suspending these planters vertically.

Materials: Powder coated aluminum

Dimensions: 8" H x 8" D

Colors: pale gray, black, peach, and aluminum

Designed and manufactured in Florida

How does the self-watering feature work?

The planter contains a 1.25" reservoir at the base divided from the main body by a perforated aluminum disc. The reservoir keeps standing water separate from the soil, preventing root rot, but evaporates back into the soil once it begins to dry out. This leads to healthier plants and easier care.
