Care tips

Kalanchoe prefer loose, well-draining soil, and to be allowed to dry out completely between watering. Watering too much or staying wet for too long can quickly lead to rot and kill the plant. When in doubt, always err on the side of less water rather than more. Remember,  these plants store an amazing amount of water in their leaves!

Common issues

Why is my kalanchoe wrinkled and shriveled looking?

Confusingly, kalanchoe can develop sad wrinkled leaves when they are under OR over waterered. If you bear in mind it is better to under water than to over water and are careful to give water only once every 3-4 weeks (or longer in Winter), shriveled and wrinkly leaves are a sure sign that your kalanchoe is ready for a drink. If the leaves are wrinkled and also feel soft or mushy, it is over watered and should be allowed to receive plenty of light and dry completely before thinking about watering again.
