Unless otherwise specified, all classes are held at our South Tacoma location, in the garage space off 54th Street. Follow directions to Fernseed South Tacoma (5243 South Tacoma Way) and check in with the retail staff for classes. Check in for after-hours classes directly in the garage space, which is around the corner from the shop next to the STW mural.
Masks are welcome, but optional. We do not require proof of vaccination to participate in classes, just as we do not require it to shop in our store, but we do ask that you not attend class if you are experiencing any symptoms.
We're adding new classes almost every week! If a class you wanted to attend is sold out, we'll likely offer it again in a couple of weeks.
All class and workshop purchases are considered final sale. But we get it, life happens. If you need to cancel due to circumstances that are out of your control, we can issue a store credit in the amount of your ticket purchase less any processing fees.
In most cases, all of the materials for the classes are provided on-site. Read the class details for more information on what is included in each class.
Do you have an idea for a class you'd like to teach at our space? Shoot us an email to: hello@thefernseed.com!
During shop hours (11am-5pm daily) you can check in at our retail space. If your class convenes after shop hours, you can check in directly at the Fernseed garage space on 54th street, just east of South Tacoma Way.
No. We'll have a class registration list handy, so all you need to do is check in using the name you registered with.
We welcome babes-in-arms (and chest carriers, and car seats) to all classes. We recommend rambunctious kiddos stay at home, but we can accommodate kids who can entertain themselves in a chair for a couple hours without issue.
You know your kid best! If you think a particular class is something they would enjoy and participate in, we welcome you to purchase tickets for children who would like to join. Our classes are alcohol-free and family-friendly. There is no age limit for classes unless specified in the class listing.
Nope! We don't allow consumption of alcohol during our ticketed classes.
It's our goal to create a welcoming space for everyone, including those teachers and students who do not drink, or prefer not to teach or participate in a class where people are drinking. In addition, our classes are family-friendly, open to children of all ages. There are lots of bars within walking distance of our South Tacoma shop if you'd like to enjoy a post-class cocktail!
